10. Salto do Cavalo Viewpoint

The Salto do Cavalo Viewpoint is another must-visit viewpoint on São Miguel Island, in the Furnas area. This viewpoint is located quite further from the town of Furnas than Pico do Ferro Viewpoint, about a 20-minute drive away, although the views of Lagoa das Furnas it offers are also incredible.

What's truly impressive about this viewpoint are the panoramic views of the entire Furnas Valley surrounding the lagoon. Additionally, you can also observe the south and north coasts of the island, making it one of the most comprehensive viewpoints. The mix of green, turquoise, and blue colors is a treat for the eyes.
