9. Santa Iria Viewpoint

Santa Iria Viewpoint is a beautiful viewpoint on the north coast of São Miguel Island. It belongs to the town of Ribeira Grande and offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline of the island.

This viewpoint is one of the most visited in São Miguel because it's easily accessible by car. It's located at an exit from the main road of the island's north and is halfway between two must-visit spots in the area: the Porto Formoso Tea Factory and the Gorreana Tea Plantations, so it's very common to stop by when passing through the area.

The view from Miradouro de Santa Iria is breathtaking. It's situated on a hill overlooking the sea, from which you can appreciate the chapels of Fenais da Ajuda along with the intense blue of the ocean.

Perched on a hill with sea views, this viewpoint offers a spectacular panorama of the surrounding region. From here, you can admire the chapels of Fenais da Ajuda and appreciate the majesty of the ocean and the natural beauty that surrounds it.

When you arrive at the viewpoint, you can park your car in its small parking lot and follow a short path that will take you to the viewpoint.
