14. Caneiros Natural Pool
The Caneiros Natural Pool is another incredible spot you can't miss when visiting the west coast of São Miguel Island. It's a natural saltwater pool nestled in a rocky area and surrounded by cliffs. The water is crystal clear and has an impressive turquoise color that perfectly complements the dark hue of its rocks.
Due to its proximity to Mosteiros Beach, about a 10-minute drive away, both places are often visited on the same day and are perfect for enjoying a swim surrounded by nature. To reach the natural pools, you can park your car at this parking lot and simply follow the signs that lead to the natural pool.
Just like Praia dos Mosteiros, the Caneiros Natural Pool is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Additionally, there's a charming terrace bar that boasts of offering the best sunset views. Is it true? You'll have to find out!
Lastly, it's important to note that access to the pool can be difficult on days of high waves, so we recommend wearing water shoes when walking in the area and being cautious when entering and exiting the water.
