6. Poça da Tia Silvina Hot Springs

The Poça da Tia Silvina hot springs offers another thermal experience on São Miguel Island, in the village of Furnas. Although its thermal waters are not as well-known as those of Terra Nostra Park or Poça Dona Beija, they are well worth a visit as they are free.

What's interesting about these thermal pools is that they are located next to the river, where cold water flows. In contrast, the thermal pools are about 38ºC (100.4°F). Although these pools are not suitable for full-body bathing, it can be fun to soak your feet in both the river and the pools and feel the contrast. Are you up for it?

Additionally, the Poça da Tia Silvina is surrounded by vegetation, making the experience even more enjoyable.
