10. Rocha da Relva
Rocha da Relva is a rocky terrace located on the south coast of São Miguel. Also known as "fajã," it's a unique geological formation characterized by its natural beauty and its microclimate favorable for the cultivation of vines, fig trees, and vegetables.
Visiting Rocha da Relva is also a great option for hiking near the city of Ponta Delgada. The PCR20SMI trail, which starts from Relva, is one of our favorites on São Miguel Island. It's a circular route of 5.5 km that runs parallel to the sea for about 3 hours. What more could you ask for?
Well, there's something more for food enthusiasts and those seeking unique experiences: along this trail lies Lapsa Garden, a farm nestled in a tranquil paradise away from the hustle and bustle. At this farm, you have the opportunity to enjoy a private dinner on a terrace overlooking the sea, with a tasting of products made on the farm, such as fresh vegetables, as well as other local products. They also offer the possibility of enjoying a fondue of Azorean cheeses. If you want more information or to make a reservation, visit their website.
